A challenging assignment was received through a Testing Technology company. This involved setting up a chamber for Accelerated Rust Testing of SUVs for a leading Indian automobile manufacturer at Sriperumbudur.
The tests were to be carried out at 50 O C and Relative Humidity of 95%. Humidification at high temperatures is always a challenge as air is less dense hence moisture absorption is hampered. Maintaining R.H. at this level poses a risk of condensation. An It was absolute necessary to maintain the R.H. steady to prevent condensation. We achieved the conditions maintaining the R.H. within + 3% and temperature within + 2O C. The system was commissioned in 2021 and is still in operation for over five years now.
Conclusion
In industrial air conditioning, particularly where humidity control is essential to production processes, a single or simplistic solution is often inadequate. The complexities of humidification and dehumidification are frequently underestimated by designers, as these systems involve more intricate considerations than generally assumed.
India’s economic growth relies on technological advancements, requiring outdated practices to be replaced with modern approaches. To produce world-class products, companies must equip their facilities with state-of the-art manufacturing equipment and utilities.
